I have always had a fondness for seniors. At the young age of 12, I spent the summer taking care of my terminally ill grandmother. I learned so much about her life and what makes each day special. Pine Ridge of Hayes gives me that same rewarding experience each day I spend getting to know our residents. It brightens my day to have a resident stop in my office just to chat about their grandchildren. Together with my husband, we and our 3 sons love to camp, fish or hike through the woods. I enjoy participating with my mother and youngest son in 5k races for causes such as anti-human trafficking, suicide prevention, and war on drugs.
I have a soft place in my heart for seniors. It brings me so much joy creating an interactive activities program that enhances their independence and quality of life. Activities are essential for seniors physical and mental well-being. Personally, having my grandparents living in senior living facilities, I know how important it is to not only find them a safe place to live, but to also find a place where they can live their best lives. I’m blessed to work for Pine Ridge who makes both of those a priority! Seniors never lose their desire to interact or have purpose. I enjoy finding ways to keep that alive for them by activities that spark old memories, activities that teach them new things, special outings, and through the friendships that are formed along the way. I always tell our residents my purpose is to keep them young & being able to that for them as a career brings me so much happiness!
I have enjoyed a full career over the last 25 years in the Senior Housing industry in a variety of positions and Pine Ridge of Hayes is no stranger to me, and rather like coming home. All my experience has been a concentration in sales and operations both of which have allowed me the privilege to interact with seniors daily. I have always worked to be an advocate for aging population and took active role early on in my career as the founding president of The Michigan Center for Assisted Living. From there, I sat on the Eastern Region Advisory Committee for Hospice of Michigan and volunteered monthly for the Family Readiness Group at Selfridge Air National Guard Base supporting our military families both here and abroad.
I am a native Michigander, married with two sons and three granddaughters. I have an active military son in the Air Force who has been deployed three times and spend all my leisure time with family and friends.
I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to spend my days in such a delightful community! Hearing the resident’s laughter and seeing the fun they have every day truly brightens my day. I developed a heart and passion for seniors early in life growing up next door to my grandparents who shared their lives with me every day. That heart and passion has grown over the last few years while working with and serving seniors through various ministries at my church. Each and every one of them has a fascinating story to tell of their life experiences and I love to listen! I look forward to getting to know each resident and their families, making them a part of my extended family. My husband and I have one grown son and in my spare time I enjoy scrapbooking, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
I was born in Detroit to a loving traditional Italian family. I was one of 6 children whom my parents were dedicated to raising with faith in God, his love, love of family, and love of others. I have 2 wonderful sons of my own, Jordan Anthony and Brandon Joseph, their beautiful wives and an amazing granddaughter.
As a child my fondest memories come alive as I recall all the beautiful family and friends gathered together at the dining table. The ladies would prepare so many luscious plates, working together so we all could indulge and feel the love in every bite. Until this day this tradition is carried on by next generations. Breaking bread with one another is a joy and a blessing.
It brings me great joy to bring this passion to Pine Ridge of Hayes. I look forward to creating an atmosphere where our residents enjoy dining each day while love, respect, health and well living are shared.
