I have always had a fondness for seniors. At the young age of 12, I spent the summer taking care of my terminally ill grandmother. I learned so much about her life and what makes each day special. Pine Ridge of Hayes gives me that same rewarding experience each day I spend getting to know our residents. It brightens my day to have a resident stop in my office just to chat about their grandchildren. Together with my husband, we and our 3 sons love to camp, fish or hike through the woods. I enjoy participating with my mother and youngest son in 5k races for causes such as anti-human trafficking, suicide prevention, and war on drugs.
I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to spend my days in such a delightful community! Hearing the resident’s laughter and seeing the fun they have every day truly brightens my day. I developed a heart and passion for seniors early in life growing up next door to my grandparents who shared their lives with me every day. That heart and passion has grown over the last few years while working with and serving seniors through various ministries at my church. Each and every one of them has a fascinating story to tell of their life experiences and I love to listen! I look forward to getting to know each resident and their families, making them a part of my extended family. My husband and I have one grown son and in my spare time I enjoy scrapbooking, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
I’ve worked at Pine Ridge from the time I was 16, and have worn many different hats. It started out as a part time job for a teenager but has grown to be so much more. My love for seniors has given me the opportunity to become the Life Enrichment Director. My heart for seniors shines through in my work, going above and beyond, and making the residents a priority. It is an honor to be able to participate in activities, plan and oversee outings and celebrate every day with our residents. Pine Ridge of Hayes truly is a second home.
In my position as Director of Maintenance at Pine Ridge of Hayes, we enrich the lives of our residents in our community. Whether it is fixing a blind or changing out an overhead light fixture, it is my pleasure to be able to serve them. I have been in the building trades for over 28 years and feel that this is where I can make the most difference with those I encounter. I love to go camping with my 2 teenage children. My daughter is in band and I find joy watching her perform. My son has a passion for building things just as I do.
My passion for helping seniors inspired my career in senior living over 10 years ago. I feel privileged to be a part of a community where genuine care, compassion and respect, never goes unnoticed. I am proud to be a part of a big extended family like Pine Ridge Hayes. I’m a proud mother of 3 loving daughters who have taught me what loving unconditionally really means.
“It is exciting and wonderful to work here. The staff is great and it’s a joy to cook for our residents.” I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and have a lovely wife, 3 children, and 4 grandchildren. My grandmother was a great chef at the Country Inn in Baton Rouge, LA.
I have a degree in Culinary Arts. I have worked in the culinary field for 34 years as a corporate chef for Hyatt Hotels, Kroger Stores, Henry Ford Health Systems, and the Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn, MI.
I enjoy movies, reading, hiking and making homemade ice cream.
