I have been a part of the Summerfield Senior Living family since 2008; starting out as the Activity Director for 3 years then transitioning to the Compass Rose Memory Care Program Director. I have enjoyed all of the families and residents that I have met over the years, and it is very important to myself and my team to create and promote a home like environment for our residents and their families. I love being a part of the Summerfield family and feel lucky to call this my home.

I have held various positions in the healthcare industry since 2006 including medical assistance and social services in some of our local skilled nursing facilities. My educational background is focused in psychology and geriatrics. I developed a passion for our aging population when I was a personal care attendant for an aging family friend when I was 17 years old.  Working alongside this friend for over 10 years helped me gain an understanding of the challenges that our aging loved ones face. My goal in this role is to help individuals and families find a home away from home. I look forward to the wonderful connections to be made here at Summerfield!

My name is Emily Sanchez-Stoklasa. I began my career at 19 years of age working with children with Special Needs. Yuba County office of education & Lodi Joint Unified School District. In 1993 my late husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. In 2023 he move into a Skilled Nursing Facility and a month later I I was hired and sent to Fairfield Ca to become a licensed Activity Director. Twenty Three years later this is still my purpose and passion. I have been here at Summerfield since 2023.

I have lived in the Yuba-Sutter area my entire life & have been calling Summerfield Senior Living my second home since 2011. Over the years I have worked as a caregiver, med tech and now I am the Wellness Director of Memory Care. The majority of my experience comes from working with Dementia/Alzheimer’s’ residents. I enjoy getting to know the residents and their families. I find it truly fulfilling and an honor to help the residents and families navigate through their journey in the Dementia process.

I am Margaret Eastwood. One of my very first summer jobs was waiting tables in a Senior Living. I went on to work in a Post Acute for a few years before getting married, and moving. I taught preschool in Tierra Buena until the nonprofit closed. Soon motherhood occupied my time while my children were younger. I enjoyed working for YMCA as an Afterschool Site Director for several years, then at the age of 47, I joined the Carpenters Union. I enjoyed 7 years with Local #46, but when my husband suddenly died on a job site, I was devastated. Shortly after, I became employed at an event venue for 4 years before being hired at a Post Acute that I was volunteering at. After 5 1/2 years as an Activity Assistant, I came to Summerfield in February of 2025. I am proud to be Summerfield Senior Living’s AL Activity Director.

I have been with Sutter Estates since 2005. I have a passion for cooking and baking that gives everything that extra ounce of deliciousness.

I was born and raised in Yuba City, so I have a deep connection to this area. For most of my career I have worked in the maintenance field in one way or another, but the most satisfaction I get from my job is seeing the gratitude and appreciation on our resident’s faces when I can make their lives easier by fixing or replacing something for them. I am so thankful and happy to be a part of this tight-knit community here at Summerfield.
